Speakers at inQUBE Breakfast in June on work-life balance in startup culture.

Exchanging ideas at inQUBE Breakfast for startups in Wroclaw

In June, right before vacation season in Poland, inQUBE hosted a thought-provoking breakfast event centered on the increasingly critical topic of work-life balance in startups. As many professionals continue to juggle company growth demands and personal well-being, the event couldn’t have been more timely or relevant.

What is inQUBE, and what’s the idea behind the event?

InQUBE is a business incubator for startups at the Wroclaw University of Economics. They offer mentoring opportunities, consulting, contests, and more. The inQUBE Breakfast initiative aims to share experiences and insights on topics relevant to the startup community. Moreover, it also creates room for forging valuable connections.

Jakub was one of the speakers at the event

Jakub, known in the Polish startup scene as a tech startupper, entrepreneur, and family guy, shared his insights in a moderated discussion with other active and hard-working individuals. Throughout the idea exchange, the speakers tackled the work-life balance topic from many angles. Although without a single, conclusive summary, the discussion ended with a few ideas worth remembering:
  • family support is essential if a person wants to launch a startup company, and they will also bear the burden;
  • it’s imperative to take a break when feeling exhausted;
  • sometimes less is more – especially when working using your brains, therefore good rest is essential;
  • using technology can help in reaching work-life balance, so outsource whatever possible and do not hesitate to use tools;
  • plan your free time and be adamant about not using this time for work, unless a really urgent matter appears;
  • additionally, make something small for yourself every day;

Supporting startups is one of our core missions at /dev. This is why we look forward to other thrilling events from inQUBE and hope to meet you there.

The HMI application improved visibility into the production quality process:

  • operators quickly trace issues to specific inspection events, reducing the time spent on fault diagnostics;
  • process engineers can access historical data e.g. in case of reclamation and improve their quality assurance process;
  • staff training became easier thanks to the clear, dashboard-style interface;
  • maintaining high inspection standards became simpler.

Moreover, by automating the pairing of image and PLC data and flagging anomalies early, the system helps in preventing production errors from going unnoticed.
